You can limit client access to your online store by enabling the secret password page. The password page is a landing that adds password assurance to your online store. You can make a password and offer it to just the clients that you need to have the capacity to visit your Shopify store.

Add password protection to your Shopify Store

If you need to add password protection facility to your Shopify store then you have to follow some  steps:

  • Go to Admin panel of your Shopify store, then go to Online Store > Preferences.
  • Check the Password protection area, and check Enable password.
  • In Password area, enter the password that you’ll provide to the customers who you want to be able to access your Shopify store. You Don’t use the same password that you provide as login time.
  • In Message for your visitors, write the message that you need to appear on the password page. In the event If you have to leave this field blank, then it considers as you don’t want to show a message.
  • Save setting.

Remove password protection from your Shopify  store

If you want to anyone can visit my Shopify store, then you have to remove password protection.

  • Go to Admin panel of your Shopify store, then go to Online Store > Preferences.
  • Go to the Password protection setting.
  • Uncheck Enable password.
  • Save setting.

Hide the footer on your password page

The password page for some themes includes a footer section.

To hide the footer:

  • Go to Admin panel of your Shopify store, then go to Online Store > Preferences.
  • Go to the Password protection area. In Message for your visitors, paste the following code
  • You can put this code either below or above any existing content.
  • Save setting.

Edit password page settings on your store

Your password pages display content which is you can edit, that is like the colors, text, and layout.

To edit your password page settings:

  • Go to Admin panel of your Shopify store, then go to Online Store > Themes.
  • Get the theme that you want to click and edit for Customize.

From the top bar drop-down menu, select password page then you need to add password protection to your online store, If you don’t see Password page in the menu,

To edit the  password page sections, do the following steps:

  • You want to edit section then click on the section. Most themes have content, footer, and header sections.
  • Then the section settings make changes.
  • Save setting.

If you want to edit the theme settings for the password page, do the following steps:

  • Go to your theme setting
  • Click on the settings category that you want to edit. Most themes have typography color, favicon, and social settings.
  • Make changes to the theme settings.
  • Save setting.

Hide your store name on your password page

  • The password page for some themes shows your store name.

To hide your store name:

  • Go to Admin panel of your Shopify store, then go to Online Store > Preferences.

Go to the  Password protection section. In Message for your visitors, paste the following code:

  • You can put this code either below or above any existing content.
  • Save setting.

The password.liquid file in the Templates directory is included in your theme by the {{ content_for_layout }} Liquid tag, which finds in the password page design file. To make any improvement to the password page layout file, click password.liquid in the Layout directory.
